The OEM hub, crafted from A380 aluminum, is easily cast and machined but tends to fail in performance and high-mileage scenarios. Its most common issue is splines wearing or shearing off, leading to steel clutch plates digging in and causing hang-ups or slow application and release times, burning up the clutches, even in mild performance setups.
In contrast, ATI's new, American-made billet 7075 aluminum E-Clutch hub addresses these shortcomings. Designed in-house, it features enhancements in weak areas with larger radii and more material, along with additional oil passages and slots for maximum flow. This race-proven component has been tested for over a year and is compatible with some 8HP45 transmissions sharing the same OEM part number.
