Our 5150 AutoSport Rod Bearing Kit is designed to be a significant upgrade from OEM bearings for your BMW S50B30 engine. This all-inclusive package includes Calico-coated rod bearings, ARP connecting rod bolts, and ARP assembly lubricant—everything you need for a reliable rod bearing replacement.

Kit Contents:

The Calico-coated bearings provide consistent, dependable lubrication, even in high-stress engine environments. This makes them ideal not only for high-performance and racing applications but also for daily drivers seeking enhanced reliability. The specialized coating reduces friction and offers superior protection during cold starts, significantly lowering the risk of spun rod bearings—a common issue with standard OEM bearings in BMW engines.

In addition to their anti-friction properties, these bearings feature excellent thermal resistance, allowing them to perform under high horsepower, forced induction, and racing conditions. This thermal stability also helps protect your engine against sudden failures in cases of oil pressure drops.

With a proven track record of durability and efficiency, our 5150 AutoSport bearings stand out as a superior choice for S50B30 owners who demand the best in reliability and performance.

Tech Notes:

- Just as with any bearings, it's crucial to verify tolerances and dimensions prior to installation.
- Given the specialized tools necessary, we strongly recommend seeking professional installation.
- There are no returns available on any engine bearings.

Rod Bolt Installation Instructions:
  1. Ensure there is an adequate chamfer around the bolt hole on the connecting rod bolt hole on the connecting rod cap to clear the radius under the head of the bolt
  2. Use ARP Ultra-Torque Fastener Assembly Lubricant to lubricate the threads of the bolt and the under head of the bolt. Then install the bolts and tighten them them hand tight.
  3. ARP recommends using the Stretch Method when tightening rod bolts. Following the instructions for using a stretch gauge, stretch the bolts to 0.0065 - 0.0070
  4. If you do not have a stretch gauge, torque the bolts to 50 ft-lbs using ARP Ultra-Torque Fastener Assembly Lubricant.
  5. The connecting rods should always be re-sized after new rod bolts are installed.
  6. A log should be kept on the original non-torqued length of each bolt. Bolts that have any permanent deformation or have increased in non-torqued length by more than 0.001 inch should be replaced.
