Notice of Emissions and Inspection Non-Compliance
As a racing team, 5150 AutoSport specializes in the development, manufacturing, and sale of performance parts tailored exclusively for racing, track, and other off-road applications. While we extend our product offerings to the general public, our primary focus is on individuals, shops, and fellow racing teams who share our passion for motorsport and utilize these components solely for off-highway racing or competition purposes.
Certain products available through the 5150 AutoSport website are expressly designed for race, track, competition, or off-road usage. These items are typically labeled with descriptors such as "Race," "Racing," or "Track," and we diligently communicate their intended application to the consumer. It is crucial to note that 5150 AutoSport provides no warranty or guarantee regarding the emissions, safety, or inspection compliance of any part sold, irrespective of your state, province, county, or city.
Removing, disabling, or altering emissions equipment on a pollution-controlled road vehicle is a violation of federal and some state laws. Equally, installing devices or software that manipulate, disable, or modify emissions controls and monitors on a pollution-controlled road vehicle is illegal. Some products available from 5150 AutoSport are not legal for sale or use in California on any pollution-controlled motor vehicle, as explicitly indicated with statements such as "not CARB exempt" or similar disclaimers. Similar restrictions may apply in states or jurisdictions that follow or have adopted California (CARB) emissions regulations.
It is the responsibility of the vehicle owner to ensure that their vehicle complies with all federal, state, and local regulations, including emissions and safety standards, if the vehicle is intended for use on public roads and highways. We strongly advocate for regular safety and equipment inspections and proactive maintenance for all our customers' vehicles. For dedicated race and track vehicles, we highly urge that customers perform safety and equipment inspections by qualified and/or experienced race mechanics before and after each event, adhering to the tech inspection guidelines issued by the respective sanctioning body or club.
Please be aware that 5150 AutoSport will not sell racing parts for street cars if it is determined that those parts, and/or their use, are in violation of federal and/or state laws. Selling such parts is illegal, as is their use on public roads. We reserve the right to confirm a customer's racing license, entry, or track participation and may cancel the sale of parts that are not intended for legitimate racing or track purposes.
If there is any uncertainty regarding the compliance status of any part offered by 5150 AutoSport, we strongly encourage customers to contact our sales staff for clarification.
Should you find yourself in disagreement with the regulations or laws governing racing parts, we recommend contacting your Congressperson to express your concerns and advocate for a reconsideration of the restrictions under the Clean Air Act. Your engagement can contribute to a more defined legal framework that allows companies like 5150 AutoSport to lawfully and seamlessly sell race car parts.
Thank you for your understanding and continued support.
