ARP Connecting Rod Bolts for BMW S54 engines are designed to deliver unmatched strength, reliability, and durability for high-performance applications. Manufactured in the USA by Automotive Racing Products (ARP), these bolts are engineered to outperform the factory rod bolts in both early and late-model S54 engines.
Fitment Guide:
- Early Model (up to 02/2003 production): M11 bolts.
- Late Model (02/2003 production and later): M10 bolts.
Whether you're rebuilding, tuning, or racing, ARP's connecting rod bolts provide peace of mind under extreme conditions. Their premium materials and precision engineering help prevent bolt stretch and engine damage, ensuring the connecting rods remain securely fastened to the crankshaft even under the most demanding scenarios.
Why Upgrade to ARP Bolts?
- Superior Strength: Designed to withstand higher stress levels than OEM bolts, reducing the risk of failure in high-RPM or high-horsepower setups.
- Durability: Exceptional fatigue resistance ensures long-term reliability.
- Precise Fitment: Custom-engineered for the BMW S54, guaranteeing seamless compatibility with your engine.
Each kit includes a complete set of 12 bolts and ARP's assembly lubricant to ensure proper installation. Following ARP's recommended torque specifications during installation is crucial for optimal performance.
Trusted by professional engine builders and racing teams, ARP Connecting Rod Bolts are a must-have for enthusiasts who demand the best from their S54 engines. Whether you're hitting the track or enhancing your daily driver, these bolts deliver the reliability you need.
M11 Early Installation Instructions:
- Ensure there is an adequate chamfer around the bolt hole on the connecting rod bolt hole on the connecting rod cap to clear the radius under the head of the bolt
- Use ARP Ultra-Torque Fastener Assembly Lubricant to lubricate the threads of the bolt and the under head of the bolt. Then install the bolts and tighten them them hand tight.
- ARP recommends using the Stretch Method when tightening rod bolts. Following the instructions for using a stretch gauge, stretch the bolts to 0.0075 - 0.0080.
- If you do not have a stretch gauge, torque the bolts to 70 ft-lbs using ARP Ultra-Torque Fastener Assembly Lubricant.
- The connecting rods should always be re-sized after new rod bolts are installed.
- A log should be kept on the original non-torqued length of each bolt. Bolts that have any permanent deformation or have increased in non-torqued length by more than 0.001 inch should be replaced.
M10 Late Installation Instructions:
- Ensure there is an adequate chamfer around the bolt hole on the connecting rod bolt hole on the connecting rod cap to clear the radius under the head of the bolt
- Use ARP Ultra-Torque Fastener Assembly Lubricant to lubricate the threads of the bolt and the under head of the bolt. Then install the bolts and tighten them them hand tight.
- ARP recommends using the Stretch Method when tightening rod bolts. Following the instructions for using a stretch gauge, stretch the bolts to 0.0065 - 0.0070.
- If you do not have a stretch gauge, torque the bolts to 50 ft-lbs using ARP Ultra-Torque Fastener Assembly Lubricant.
- The connecting rods should always be re-sized after new rod bolts are installed.
- A log should be kept on the original non-torqued length of each bolt. Bolts that have any permanent deformation or have increased in non-torqued length by more than 0.001 inch should be replaced.
