5150 AutoSport Lebanon x Mainline Dyno: Nissan 350Z Drift Monster Powered by a BMW S52 Turbo Engine

Built by 5150 AutoSport Lebanon x Asaf Mainline Dyno

When Asaf and his team at Mainline Dyno, the official 5150 AutoSport Lebanon dealer, set out to build their next competition drift car, they had one goal in mind—don't build what everyone else is building.

The drift world is full of proven combinations. Toyota 2JZs and GM LS engines have dominated the scene for years, producing incredible results. But instead of following the same formula, the team wanted to prove something different.

Could a BMW S52 compete with the best?

Working from the 5150 AutoSport Lebanon facility and utilizing the capabilities of Mainline Dyno, Asaf and his team partnered with 5150 AutoSport USA to develop a unique combination—a turbocharged BMW S52 powering a Nissan 350Z drift chassis.

The objective was ambitious: build a reliable competition engine capable of producing 800–1,000+ WHP while surviving the relentless abuse of professional drifting.

The result is one of the most unique BMW-powered drift cars in the region.

Built for Drift Abuse

This isn't just another high-horsepower engine build.

Professional drifting demands constant high RPM, repeated limiter hits, extreme cylinder pressure, high temperatures, and sustained abuse. Every component must be capable of surviving conditions far beyond what a typical street engine experiences.

To meet those demands, the engine was built using the 5150 AutoSport Xtreme Engine Package, including:

  • CP-Carrillo Xtreme Forged Pistons
  • Manley Forged Connecting Rods
  • 5150 Race Main Bearings
  • 5150 Performance Rod Bearings
  • ARP Main Stud Kit
  • 5150 Oil Pump Upgrade Kit

Cylinder Head Built for Boost

The S52 cylinder head received a complete performance upgrade focused on airflow, reliability, and high-RPM stability.

The package includes:

  • 5150 Turbo Camshafts
  • 5150 Xtreme Valve Spring Kit
  • 5150 Xtreme Single Groove Valves
  • VANOS Upgrade
  • ARP 625+ Head Studs
  • Athena Cut Ring Head Gasket

Electronics & Drivetrain

Power is only useful if it can be controlled.

This build features:

  • Link ECU Xtreme engine management
  • Tilton Twin Disc Clutch designed to handle extreme torque and competition abuse

A Different Formula for Drift Performance

This project reflects what 5150 AutoSport Lebanon is all about—building proven combinations through testing, data collection, and real motorsports experience.

Instead of following the crowd, Asaf and his team chose to showcase the potential of the BMW S52 platform in a competitive drift environment.

Every component, every calibration, and every decision was made with one goal: build a drift engine that delivers both performance and reliability.

A Nissan 350Z.
A BMW S52 Turbo.
5150 Xtreme Components.
Real testing. Real results.

No cookie-cutter builds.

No following the crowd.

Just real engineering, real drivers, and real performance.
