Collection: Z1

The BMW Z1, produced between 1989 and 1991, was a limited-production roadster that showcased BMW’s engineering innovation and design experimentation. Built on a unique steel monocoque chassis with removable thermoplastic body panels, the Z1 was most famous for its vertically sliding doors that retracted into the car’s sills. Powered by a 2.5-liter M20B25, paired with a 5-speed manual and rear-wheel drive, it offered 168 horsepower and a spirited driving experience. Only about 8,000 units were made, making it a rare collector’s piece today.
